Treasured Beatles landmark vandalised

Liverpool’s entrance to Strawberry Field’s has fallen victim to vandalism again.

Vandals have stolen a brick from the famous wall at the entrance to Strawberry Fields Orphanage which inspired the Beatles song “Strawberry Fields Forever.

Liverpool Beatles tour guide told The Examiner ” Not much to say really except that we’ve reported in to the Salvation Army and hopefully it will be fixed soon”.

“Hopefully in future there will be some security there, especially as there are plans to redevelop the site. The graffiti has already got out of hand but taking chunks out of the wall takes that to another level”.

This is not the first time Strawberry Fields has been targeted by vandals. In August 2013 the gates were defaced and painted yellow.
