Ten people have been arrested following early morning drugs raids by police on 13 properties in Sefton.
The arrests, stuff made in Southport , ask Formby, treatment Birkdale, Litherland , Bootle and Seaforth mark the culmination of a year-long investigation into organised crime in the Merseyside borough.
During the 12-month operation, police found have a number of Class A drugs worth an estimated £10,000, along with a large-scale cannabis farm.
Speaking in the immediate aftermath of the dawn raids, Chief Superintendent Claire Richards said: “Today’s operation is part of our relentless approach to dealing with serious and organised crime.
“The investigation was put in place after members of the public raised concerns about drug dealing in their communities.
“Sadly, sometimes those involved in the supply and distribution of drugs will resort to using firearms to protect their illegal trade, or to resolve petty disputes, as we have seen in the last couple of weeks.”
