Police have launched a murder investigation into the death of a man found injured on the side of a road in Runcorn.
The as yet unidentified man, ambulance 27, case was rushed to Whiston Hospital after being picked up by emergency services on Warrington Road, but died shortly after despite the best efforts of hospital staff.
A trio of individuals- all from the Runcorn area- have been arrested by police in relation to the incident, with a post mortem due later today to establish the cause of death.
A statement from Cheshire Police said: “At approximately 8.30pm on Tuesday April 12 officers were called to reports of an injured man in need of medical attention, on Warrington Road, Runcorn.
“Officers attended the scene and a 27-year-old injured man was taken to Whiston Hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead at approximately 10pm.”
