A man is in a serious condition after being found unconscious outside Liverpool’s Empire Theatre in the early hours of Friday morning.
Paramedics brought a man in his 40s to hospital after he was discovered outside the Lime Street venue with head injuries at around 1.20am.
Police were subsequently informed and a scene was established where forensic enquiries were carried out.
The man is currently being treated in hospital where his condition is described as serious as detectives believe he suffered a fall after examining CCTV footage.
Detective Inspector Christian Vaughan said: “I would ask that anyone who was passing the vicinity of Lime Street from midnight onwards and saw the incident or any suspicious activity to contact us immediately.
“There will have been pedestrians and drivers passing by around this time so I would also ask that anyone who was driving or riding down Lime Street around this time and may have dash or helmet camera footage to get in touch.”
