A pensioner is recovering in hospital after being involved in a hit-and-run in West Derby.
The 79-year-old was struck by during the incident on Green Lane, which took place at around 4.30pm on Friday near to the junction of West Derby Road.
Police have confirmed that the driver, believed to be in a red or white vehicle, failed to stop at the scene outside the Men’s Direct Hostel in the area.
The pensioner was taken to hospital after suffering a serious leg injury and was assisted by members of the public including one potential witness.
Officers were unable to speak with the person as they were unable to remain at the scene but have urged them to come forward with any details of the collision.
