Liverpool named UK’s most thoughtful city at Christmas

People in Liverpool will go the extra mile to make friends and family they aren’t with this Christmas feel special, according to new research.

Findings show that as many as 16 per cent are likely to send personalised cards – higher than any other UK city – while almost three quarters of residents send general Christmas cards.

Only five of Liverpool residents say they will do nothing to send their season’s greetings to friends and relatives, ailment the lowest among the UK cities surveyed.

The research from shopping and fundraising website Give as you Live found Norwich (80%), Bristol (77%) and Cardiff (74%) will be sending the most cards this Christmas.

Glasgow ranked lowest with one in five (19%) saying they won’t be doing anything to wish a Merry Christmas to friends and relatives they aren’t with this year.

Greg Hallett, Managing Director, Give as you Live commented, “While social media is increasingly popular for our daily communication, it’s nice to see the majority of Brits will still be a little more thoughtful and send cards to loved ones this Christmas.

“For those feeling extra thoughtful, charity Christmas cards are a great way to give a little extra to those in need, and Give as you Live now has an option to make personalised charity Christmas cards – perfect for the family Christmas newsletter or a special gift to a friend.”
