Shots fired at Old Swan house in ‘targeted’ attack

Shots were fired at a house in Old Swan in what police are calling a ‘targeted’ attack.

The incident happened at around 9.45pm on Wednesday when police were called to an address in Woodhall Road following reports of a gun shots.

Although no one was injured at the scene, officers found damage to a window consistent with a firearm discharge.

An investigation into the shooting has been launched and police are seeking a group of men seen outside the address prior to the incident.

Detectives from Merseyside Police currently believe the incident was targeted and have stepped up their presence in the area to provide reassurance to the community.

Liverpool Superintendent Matt Boyle said: “We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a group of men in cars in the area of Woodhall Road around 20 minutes before the incident.

“There appears to have been some suspicious activity close to the address and any detail you may have, however small, may be vital in our investigations.”

Anyone who may have information which could help police with their inquiries to contact detectives through 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
