An upsetting tweet that claimed the man who killed PC Dave Phillips is a “hero” is under investigation by Police.
The tweet celebrated there being “one less pig” in the world.
The tweet was met with backlash with users naming and shaming the original user and naming his place of work.
It is understood that the person who sent the tweet has been suspended from his place of work, cure Aviva, following the furore.
The tweet said ” Clayton Williams you are my new hero One less pig in the world” followed by a number of pig emojis and the hashtag #FTP.
The man is not believed to be from the Merseyside area but is instead from Sheffield.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire police confirmed that they had been working with Merseyside Police about the incident.
