A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of the theft and attempted theft of Royal British Legion’s Poppy collection tins in Liverpool.
The pair, both aged 23, from Anfield and Everton were detained for attempted theft of a collection tin at two seperate incidents in the city centre.
An attempted theft of a collection tin from the Tea Brew Bar on St Paul’s Square on November 8 was followed by the theft of a collection tin from Lloyds Bank on Lord Street on November 12.
The man, from Everton, has also been arrested in connection with two unrelated thefts.
Both remain in police custody today.
