Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent has responded to Farhad Moshiri’s claim that the Napoli defender was over-priced amid Everton’s interest this summer.
Moshiri confirmed that the Blues had targeted the Senegal international as a replacement for John Stones, who joined Manchester City for £47.5 million.
But Napoli’s £60 million valuation of Koulibaly saw both Everton and Chelsea fail in their efforts to land him during the previous transfer window.
Bruno Satin, who represents the player, insists that price tag was due to the Serie A club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis deeming the 25-year-old ‘non-transferable’.
“Everton? We knew of interest from Everton,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“But if there is something to say, ask De Laurentiis.
“These figures of 50, 60, 70 million are absurd, in part because the president said he is non-transferable.”
He added: “Each player has a price, right in front of an offer any club can bend.
“But on Kalidou there was also talk and you can not bring a player from another club when He’s already at an important club, playing in the Champions League.
“He is fine here. The people love him. He was agitated in the summer, but is slowly coming back to his best level.”
