Liverpool are preparing to fight it out with Barcelona to sign Max Meyer.
Meyer has been on the Reds’ radar since the summer, with Jurgen Klopp prepared to sanction a £25 million deal for the creative midfielder.
But reports across Europe claim that the 21-year-old is currently attracting admiring glances from clubs further afield than Anfield.
SportsBild have revealed that Tottenham are keen on making Meyer their latest Bundesliga recruit, following the previous capture of Son Heung-Min.
French publication Le10 Sport have reaffirmed Liverpool’s interest in the Germany international but also warned that Barcelona could make a renewed approach.
The reigning Spanish champions had mulled over signing Meyer this summer but a move failed to materialise at the time.
