Everton FC defender warns of potential Goodison Park exit

Ramiro Funes Mori has warned Everton that he may consider his options elsewhere without regular football.

Mori’s first-team prospects were diminished following the arrival of Ashley Williams, who arrived from Swansea City to replace John Stones.

The Argentina international scored in his country’s World Cup qualifier with Peru on Thursday but is keen to safeguard his place in Egardo Bauza’s side.

And Mori, the Blues’ £9 million signing from River Plate in 2015, believes that he may have to leave Goodison Park in order to cement that status.

“I started playing, but then the manager (Ronald Koeman) decided I had to be a substitute,” he told La Nacion.

“I’ll see how things are going, because if I don’t play, I will look for a way out to have that continuity of which we spoke, because I have a place in the national team also based on play.

“Although Paton (Bauza) gives me great confidence, I need continuity. And to play… at Everton or elsewhere.”
