Everton have met Wesley Sneijder’s release clause, according to reports in Turkey.
Sneijder joined Galtasaray from Inter Milan in 2013, snubbing a move to the Blues’ local rivals Liverpool in the process, and has gone on to record 40 goals.
Both Everton and Manchester United, now managed by his former Inter boss Jose Mourinho, have been credited with an interest in the experienced playmaker in recent weeks.
But the Goodison Park club are said to have matched the £5.8 million valuation in the European Cup winner’s contract.
The attacker, 32, was previously linked with a move to the Toffees, where he would be reunited with his one-time Ajax manager Ronald Koeman, this summer.
