New Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola set to raid Liverpool FC this summer

Liverpool are reportedly bracing themselves for a summer transfer raid from Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola will officially take charge of the Citizens on July 1 and is said to have already eyed a swoop on the Reds.

journalist Emanuele Giulianelli has claimed that the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has identified Roberto Firmino as a potential addition to his squad at the Etihad Stadium.

Firmino initially struggled to adjust to life at Anfield after a £29 million move from Hoffenheim but came good under new boss Jurgen Klopp, notching 11 goals and nine assists during a debut season in the Premier League.

Guardiola is no stranger to the Brazilian’s talents, having faced him with Bayern prior to his move to England.

The 45-year-old has already landed Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund to kick-start his City revolution and is also believed to be targeting Everton defender John Stones.
