Everton face a battle with West Ham for the signature of AC Milan attacker M’baye Niang, according to reports.
Backed by new billionaire investor Farhad Moshiri, the Blues are expected to spend big this summer in an attempt to overhaul a squad that ended the season in the bottom half of the table.
One of new manager Ronald Koeman’s top priorities will no doubt be adding depth to a porous front-line that, Romelu Lukaku aside, failed to fire for much of the campaign.
And Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Blues have lodged an official bid for Niang, a versatile striker known for his mobility and trickery on the ball.
Niang was on the verge of completing a £2 million move to Goodison Park in 2012 before eventually opting for the Rossoneri, and is back on the Blues’ radar after a breakthrough season with the Italian giants.
The 21-year-old Frenchman, who scored 8 goals in 21 appearances for the Serie A side, is also believed to be the subject of an offer from Slaven Bilic’s West Ham.
A fee in the region of £11.8 million has been touted for the pacy France under-21 international, yet it remains to be seen if Milan will be willing to allow the highly-rated youngster to leave during the close season.
