Incoming Everton FC manager Ronald Koeman set to raid Southampton

Ronald Koeman is preparing to raid old club Southampton following his arrival at Everton.

Koeman’s appointment as Roberto Martinez’s successor is set to be confirmed this week following his return from an end-of-season holiday.

And the 53-year-old will reportedly waste little time in fashioning a Blues squad in his own image.

With majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri set to offer his new manager a £100 million transfer war chest this summer, Koeman has already set his sights on a return to the Saints for his first signing.

Fraser Forster has emerged as the preferred successor to outgoing goalkeeper Tim Howard, who will return to his native United States this summer to join the Colorado Rapids.

The England international rose to prominence during the Dutchman’s final season at St Mary’s and the Daily Express claim that Forster has been earmarked as Everton’s new first-choice goalkeeper.
