Liverpool rising star Cameron Brannagan is the subject of a transfer tussle between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Brannagan originally caught the eye of reigning La Liga champions Barca in April with a series of impressive displays during his nine senior outings for the Reds this season.
But reports suggest that Barca will face stern competition from their domestic arch-rivals Real in their efforts to land the 20-year-old.
The Daily Mirror claim that the newly-crowned European champions are preparing a deal worth an initial £5.5 million to prise Brannagan away from Anfield.
Manchester United have previously made unsuccessful attempts to lure the Salford-born midfielder back to his roots.
