Liverpool FC set to make summer move for Belgium starlet

Liverpool are set to make a summer move for Anderlecht midfielder Samuel Bastien, according to the youngster’s agent.

Anderlecht rate the Belgian U21 international highly, and loaned him to Serie B side Avellino for the 2015-16 campaign, with Bastien making 31 appearances for the Italian club.

His representative, Franklin Mala-Makani confirmed the Reds interest, but stated that they are yet to recieve an official offer, although contact may have been made.

“Maybe Liverpool talked directly with Anderlecht’s general manager Herman van Holsbeeck, but Benfica also made an official offer.”

Mr Mala-Makani confirmed that the Anderlecht general manager was away on holiday and that more information would be available upon his return.

He also stated that despite the reported interest from Liverpool, he would make no further comment until an official bid is made.

“We will talk when it becomes official from Liverpool Football Club. We prefer to talk about an official offer.”

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a number of summer signings before the start of the 2016-17 season, with promising youngsters such as Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell and Celtic’s Kieran Tierney already linked with a move.
