Jurgen Klopp eyes Anfield reunion with Liverpool FC flop

Liverpool are reportedly open to the prospect of re-signing Nuri Sahin.

Sahin’s short-lived loan spell with the Reds, in 2012, saw him make just 12 appearances before he made a premature return to Real Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp remains a huge fan of the Turkey international, having worked with him at Borussia Dortmund prior to moving to the Spanish giants and subsequently reuniting with him just months after his disastrous Anfield stint.

Now, AMK claim that the Liverpool manager may bring Sahin back to Merseyside.

Prior to succeeding Brendan Rodgers last October, Klopp admitted that the 27-year-old’s failure in England was due to being played out of position by his predecessor.

“It was the wrong position [for him],” he told BBC Sport.

“If you are a No. 8 or 6 and you have to as a No. 9 or 10 – it’s not possible.

“For some guys of course it’s possible, but Nuri’s a brilliant player – not nine-and-a-half and not 10 – and I don’t know why Brendan Rodgers would do this.”
