Argentine forward keen on shock Liverpool FC transfer

Gonzalo Higuain is interested in a summer move to Liverpool, according to reports.

The deadly Argentina international plundered 36 goals in just 35 games this season- a Serie A record- but is keen to leave current club Napoli over the summer in search of pastures new.

And the Daily Mirror suggests that the 28-year-old has earmarked Anfield as a potential destination, with a move to the Premier League of particular interest to a player who has already had successful spells in both Italy and Spain.

The former Real Madrid striker has also drawn admiring glances from Arsenal and Manchester United, but the paper adds that Higuain, a £34.5 million signing back in 2013, is intrigued at the prospect of linking up with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

The enigmatic German will seek to revamp the Anfield club’s striking department this summer, with the futures of £32.5 million flop Christian Benteke and the injury-prone Daniel Sturridge both believed to be in jeopardy during the close season.
