Liverpool reportedly are close to a £45 million deal for Porto midfielder Yacine Brahimi.
The Algerian international, 26, joined the Portuguese giants in 2014 and has provided 10 goals and 11 assists in his 49 appearances last season.
And Portuguese newspaper A Bola claim the Reds are ‘very close’ to smashing their transfer record in order to secure the striker on a huge transfer deal said to be around the £45 million mark.
If Liverpool were to finalise a deal it would prove to be the most expensive transfer in club history shading Andy Carroll’s £35million fee for his move from Newcastle in 2011.
The could however be a potential stumbling block with Brahimi being part-owned by consortium Doyen Sports and Porto.
