Liverpool FC join Tottenham in battle to land Chelsea flop this summer

Liverpool have joined the chase to sign Wolfsburg winger Andre Schurrle, according to reports in Germany.

Schurrle is believed to be on the market this summer after falling out with Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking, and the Reds are expected to battle it out with Premier League rivals Tottenham for the German international’s signature.

Kicker claim that Jurgen Klopp has targeted the wide man, who joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen for £18 million back in 2013 but failed to make an impression under Jose Mourinho

He moved back to the Bundesliga a season later and has struck nine goals in 36 games this campaign, alerting a host of clubs in England.

And the pacy winger recently admitted a move could be on the cards following a rumoured bust-up with Hecking.

He said: “Right now this is not a topic for me to discuss as we have important games to go.

“But after that we have to talk about the future – it’s clear that there might be some changes.”
