Everton consider bid for Bundesliga defender

Everton are weighing up a move for Hoffenheim defender Kevin Vogt.

Sam Allardyce is keen to solve the Blues’ defensive woes after summer signing Michael Keane’s poor start to his time in the ranks.

Bottom-placed Swansea City have conceded less goals than Everton’s backline this season, which has prompted Allardyce to seek potential reinforcements.

Several options are being considered, with Vogt reportedly among them.

According to the Daily Mail, Goodison Park chiefs were impressed by the 26-year-old’s performance in his side’s Champions League qualifier with Liverpool.

However a move is expected to be deferred until the summer rather than pursued in the final days of the January transfer window.

Before joining Hoffenheim two years ago, Vogt enjoyed three prior spells in the Bundesliga with Bochum, Augsburg and Koln.
