Spartak Moscow are interested in out-of-favour Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic.
Markovic is surplus to requirement at Anfield again this season and last featured in a match day squad for September’s Carabao Cup exit to Leicester City
The 24-year-old has not made an appearance for the Reds since a 2-1 win over QPR back in May 2015 and spent the previous two years on loan spells.
As a result, he has accepted that his time on Merseyside is over and he needs to move this month to revive his ailing career.
According to the Liverpool Echo, that has alerted the club’s Champions League group opponents Spartak, who have expressed an interested in securing his signature.
West Bromwich Albion are also monitoring the situation and could be sparked into making their own move should the Russian champions submit a bid.
