Liverpool to stick with Karius and Mignolet

Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for a new goalkeeper this month.

Roma stopper Alisson had been linked with a move to Anfield as both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius failed to make the number-one spot their own.

Karius was handed the chance to stake a claim in the Reds’ 4-3 win over Manchester City on Sunday but disappointed with a poor display.

Fans had been hoping that some of the money accrued from the sale of Philippe Coutinho would be spent on solving the problematic position.

However the Daily Mail claim that any hopes that either of the pair will be replaced in the January transfer window will not be realised.

According to the newspaper, the feeling within Anfield’s corridors of power is that there are few suitable targets available at this moment in time.

Liverpool are reportedly willing to make a move should that situation change but for now, no goalkeeper will be targeted until the end of the season.
