Everton are ready to launch a £20 million bid for Arsenal’s Theo Walcott.
Sam Allardyce is keen to improve on a goal-shy Blues forward line this month and has already drafted in Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun to help lighten that load.
But the former England manager also wants to add additional pace to his team and has reportedly identified Walcott as the perfect candidate to do so.
According to the Telegraph, Everton will meet the winger’s £20m valuation as well as matching his current £110,000 per week wage at the Emirates Stadium.
Walcott is thought to be keen on a move away from the Gunners after almost 12 years and was understood to have initially preferred sealing a loan switch.
The 28-year-old’s former club Southampton are also currently in the hunt for his signature but Everton remain in pole position should he leave the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger however remains resistant to selling Walcott, with Alexis Sanchez already expected to be on his way out of the North London club this month.
However, the Arsenal boss could alter that stance if both Danny Welbeck and ex-Everton target Olivier Giroud can remain fit for the second half of the season.
