Everton to ramp up N’Zonzi pursuit

Everton will push forward with a £25 million move for Steven N’Zonzi this week.

The Blues have already signalled their intent for the January transfer window with a move for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun expected to be confirmed shortly.

But the spending is not expected to end there, with Sam Allardyce keen to add to his squad and build on a strong start to his career at Goodison Park.

N’Zonzi remains chief his targets and the Daily Mail claim Everton will push forward with a move in the next 48 hours in efforts to get business done early.

According to the newspaper, Sevilla are seeking £25m for the midfielder, who is out of favour after falling out with former manager Eduardo Berizzo.

Berizzo’s sacking earlier this month had done little to improve relations between N’Zonzi and the La Liga side, who are now willing to accept a parting of the ways.

West Ham are also expected to challenge Everton for the 29-year-old, with David Moyes recently revealing that he may do battle his former club in the market.

However the player is understood to prefer a move to Goodison, where he would again link up with his one-time Blackburn boss Allardyce.
