Tottenham will reignite their interest in Everton’s Ross Barkley in January.
The midfielder was on the verge of leaving Goodison Park last summer, only to pull the plug on a move to champions Chelsea at the last minute.
Barkley’s future with his boyhood club remains heavily in doubt, with his current contract expiring next summer and several clubs said to be keen on a move.
Everton hope that a new deal can be struck but manager Sam Allardyce recently admitted there is a possibility the 24-year-old has already sealed a move away.
Should that happen, Tottenham could be his next destination with the Express reporting that Mauricio Pochettino has identified Barkley as a January target.
The Spurs boss is keen to spend in January to revive his side’s fortunes in the Premier League.
He faces stern competition for the Wavertree-born player, though, with Arsenal, West Ham and Chelsea also keen on bringing Barkley to London.
Barkley has yet to feature for Everton this term due to a hamstring injury picked up in pre-season training.
