Coutinho refuses to rule out Liverpool exit

Philippe Coutinho has refused to discount his possible Liverpool exit in January.

Coutinho shone as the Reds’ stand-in captain for their emphatic 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow, scoring a hat-trick in the Champions League encounter.

But the Brazilian’s future at Anfield remains subject of strong speculation amid Barcelona’s continued interest in him ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Liverpool rejected several offers totalling £114 million for Coutinho last summer despite the player submitting a transfer request in a bid to force through a move.

The 25-year-old has told a Brazilian television channel that he remains committed to Liverpool but cannot guarantee where his future lies next month.

He said: “I do not know how the future is going to be.

“What will happen in January, we will know it in January. I do not know if there will be an offer.

“I am at Liverpool and I always do my best when I have the opportunity to play, respecting the jersey and the supporters.

“Last summer there was a job offer in the same way that happens with any employee and I was interested in it. Since I stayed, I have played with will and desire.”
