Liverpool sound out PSG over January deal

Liverpool are said to have sounded out Paris Saint-German over a move for Julian Draxler.

Draxler turned down the Reds in favour of a move to the French capital back in January but has faltered since the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The Germany international is reportedly struggling to claim his regular position with to the pair’s summer signings restricting him to a more defensive role.

According to L’Equipe, Jurgen Klopp has taken steps to try and convince PSG to allow Draxler to temporarily leave the Parc des Princes in the January window.

However Liverpool face several challenges in their attempt to lure the 24-year-old on loan, with Premier League rivals Arsenal also credited with interest in him.

Draxler’s refusal to give up on his career with Les Parisiens despite his limited game-time is another obstacle which threaten to derail Klopp’s renewed pursuit.

He has scored just twice in 16 outings for PSG this season, compared to 10 in his opening 25 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions-elect.
