Ronaldinho believes Philippe Coutinho would be ‘perfect’ for Barcelona.
Coutinho continues to attract interest from the Catalan giants, who are expected to revist their previous pursuit of the Liverpool playmaker as early as January.
Anfield chiefs rejected three offers from Barca which totalled £114 million and the the Brazil international’s transfer request in a bid to force through a move.
But Ronaldinho, who spent five years at the Nou Camp, has backed compatriot Coutinho to follow in his footsteps as a key component for the La Liga side.
He said: “I would be very happy to see such a talented player wear the shirt I wore for so many years.
“I believe the way he plays will perfectly suit Barcelona and would be delighted to see a player of such quality wear the shirt.
“I like the way Coutinho plays and the type of football he brings.
“Those types of qualities will hopefully help Brazil win the next World Cup.”
