Liverpool have reportedly set Philippe Coutinho’s asking price at £135 million.
Barcelona failed to land the playmaker during the summer with a series of bids totalling £114m but the Reds maintained their not-for-sale stance.
However various reports in Catalonia suggest that Coutinho’s dream move to the Nou Camp could come to fruition amid a series of developing situations.
Mundo Deportivo claim that the 25-year-old’s agent Kia Joorabchian has informed Barca that Liverpool’s asking price is in the region of £135m.
‘Blaugrana’ chiefs are also said to be concerned by Paris Saint-Germain’s potential re-emergence in the battle for Coutinho’s signature in January.
Those fears emerged just days after Joorabchian was photographed alongside someone who appeared to be PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique.
The pair are believed to have been in conversation at hotel before The Best FIFA Football Awards which took place in London on Monday night.
Coutinho’s long-standing friendship with compatriot and new PSG star Neymar is believed to make a potential move to the French capital a genuine prospect.
Les Parisiens previously saw a £23m offer for the former Inter Milan player rejected by Liverpool in summer 2016.
Further reports in the Catalan press have cast doubt over Coutinho’s log-term future at Anfield amid claims of a rift in his relationship with Jurgen Klopp.
According to Sport, the pair remain at odds over the Liverpool manager’s refusal to allow his talisman to secure a move to Barca last summer.
Coutinho handed in a transfer request to sporting director Michael Edwards on the eve of the new Premier League season after seeing two bids rejected.
However Klopp’s handling of the Brazil international’s bid to leave Merseyside and a subsequent return to the first-team fold is said to be a key factor.
