Emre Can admits it was ‘an honour’ to receive an offer to join Juventus.
The Liverpool midfielder recorded his first international goal on Sunday in Germany’s 5-1 win over Azerbaijan in their final World Cup qualifier.
But Can’s long-term future remains shrouded in uncertainty with his current Anfield contract set to expire next summer and an extension yet to be agreed.
Juventus are monitoring the 23-year-old’s situation, with their chief executive Beppe Marotta admitting they could sign him at the end of the season.
Liverpool previously rejected a bid from the Serie A champions, which Can revealed was flattering but remains focused on his current club.
“It’s always an honour to receive an offer from such a renowned club,” he told Kicker.
“But currently I am only focused on the season with Liverpool.
“My agent takes care of the rest.”
Talks over a new deal to keep Can on Merseyside have stalled in recent months, with the absence of a release clause understood to be a factor.
But the one-time Bayern Munich player admits that he cannot guarantee where his future lies or whether he will feature in Jurgen Klopp’s plans.
He added: “The Premier League is just a really cool league, the most interesting in the world, but you must always respect other big clubs and leagues.
“You never know what will happen. And I don’t what Jurgen Klopp plans.”
Can has made nine appearances for Liverpool this season, scoring a brace in their Champions League qualifying win over Hoffenheim in late August.
