Mirallas ‘really sad’ at denied Everton FC exit

Kevin Mirallas has claimed that Everton denied him a chance to rejoin Olympiakos.

Ronald Koeman hinted last month that Mirallas may be on his way out of Goodison Park with remarks citing concerns about the player’s attitude.

The Belgium international was the subject of a transfer deadline day approach from West Ham, only for the Blues to turn down their Londoners’ loan bid.

Interest from Mirallas’ former club Olympiakos also cooled with Everton solely willing to entertain offers of permanent transfers for the winger.

But the 29-year-old has alleged that the Goodison hierarchy blocked a return to the Greek side, where he spent two years between 2010 and 2012.

“I really wanted to join Olympiakos,” he told DH Net.

“I’m really sad. Everton didn’t want to let me go.

“I would like to thank all Olympiakos supporters for the many messages they sent me.

“And they must know that I love their club and, as I said before, one day I will come back to them.”
