Emre Can will open talks over a prospective Liverpool exit in January.
Can is yet to agree a new long-term contract with the Reds beyond the final 12 months of his current deal and will soon be eligible to negotiate a free transfer.
Various reports have claimed that the midfielder is set to sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus, who have monitored him since the turn of the year.
The Serie A champions failed in their efforts to land Can during the summer transfer window but have remained undeterred in their pursuit of him.
Juve’s general manager Beppe Marotta has confirmed that they plan to begin talks for the Germany international at the beginning of 2018.
“We have already said several times we intend to start formal negotiations with the Germany international in January”, he told Tuttosport.
Can scored twice in Liverpool’s Champions League play-off win over Hoffenheim last month and has been an ever-present in Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.
Liverpool remain hopeful of the 23-year-old committing his long-term future to the club despite the current impasse.
