Liverpool have reportedly sounded out Atletico Madrid striker Angel Correa.
Correa struck five times in 52 outings since moving to La Liga in summer 2014 but is said to currently be under consideration by Jurgen Klopp.
The Argentina international would cost the Reds in the region of £25 million as the La Liga giants aim to trim their squad for an anticipated busy January window.
Atleti cannot sign players until the turn of next year due to their transfer embargo being upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport last month.
Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez had been tipped to move to the Wanda Metropolitano but instead joined Everton following the CAS ruling.
But Foot Mercato claim that Liverpool are still able to land Correa, who has two years remaining on his current deal in the Spanish capital, before January.
A five-year deal worth £55,000 per week is said to have been offered to the 22-year-old’s representatives in the hope of convincing him to move to Anfield.
Should Correa join Liverpool it could pave the way for Daniel Sturridge’s departure, widely expected to happen before the start of the new season.
