Roma want Everton FC forward as Salah replacement

Gerard Deulofeu could become Mohamed Salah’s replacement at Roma.

The Serie A runners-up have begun the search for Salah’s successor after he joined Liverpool last week in a deal worth close to an initial £37 million.

And reports in Italy claim that Everton winger Deulofeu is currently under consideration by Milan to fill the void left by the Egyptian’s departure.

Barcelona still have the option to trigger the 23-year-old’s buy-back clause which is worth £10.5 million to Everton should he return to his former club.

According to Mediaset Premium, Roma’s new sporting director Monchi has identified Deulofeu as a possible incoming to replace Salah.

The pair worked together during the Spain international’s unsuccessful loan spell at Sevilla, prior to a permanent move to Goodison Park in summer 2015.

Roma are also monitoring Sassuolo forward Domenico Bernardi as a backup should they fail in their efforts to land Deulofeu as their priority signing.

Deulofeu is currently in Poland preparing for his country’s European under-21 Championship final with Germany on Friday.
