Everton FC could make first signing in next 24 hours

Everton could secure their first summer signing in the next 24 hours.

Sandro Ramirez is expected on Merseyside to finalise a proposed £5.2 million transfer after the Blues beat Atletico Madrid to his signature.

Atleti appeared to have beaten Ronald Koeman to the Malaga striker’s capture only for the Court of Arbitration for Sport to uphold their transfer embargo.

That put Everton back in the box seat for Sandro, who scored 14 goals in La Liga last season, to become the first arrival of Koeman’s second summer in charge.

Interest in the ex-Barcelona graduate, 21, has become intensified as Romelu Lukaku attempts to engineer his Goodison Park exit on international duty.

Lukaku insists that another 12 months at Everton is ‘not an option’ for him and that the forward already knows the identity of his prospective future destination.

With doubts over Ross Barkley’s future, following his own refusal to sign a new contract, Davy Klaassen also remains a priority signing for Koeman.

The highly-rated forward is considering his options at a currently manager-less Ajax following Peter Bosz’s departure to Borussia Dortmund last week.

Koeman observed Klaasen in-person during his side’s Europa League semi-final win over Lyon last month with a view to a potential move to Merseyside.

The Sunday Mirror claim that the Everton is now preparing to make Klaassen among his first signings of the summer with a proposed £20 million deal.
