Liverpool FC told key summer target is not for sale

Liverpool have been told that Ryan Sessegnon is not for sale this summer.

A host of Premier League clubs are preparing to battle with the Reds for the 16-year-old’s signature following his impressive breakthrough season with Fulham.

Sessegnon has made 26 appearances to date for the Championship club this term but is being tipped to leave Craven Cottage upon turning 17 next month.

Jurgen Klopp identified the versatile England under-19 international as a potential solution to Liverpool’s long-running problems in their left-back role.

Vice-captain James Milner has been forced to deputise in the position from midfield as Alberto Moreno fails to convince the German of his suitability.

But Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is adamant that Sessegnon’s immediate future lies with the club and will not be made available to potential suitors.

He said: “Sessegnon will not be in the transfer market in the summer.”

Should the left-sided player sign professional terms with Fulham, the London club would be entitled to a sizeable development fee if he were to move on.
