Liverpool FC offered fresh Julian Brandt transfer hope

Julian Brandt’s father has offered Liverpool fresh hope of landing the Bayer Leverkusen playmaker.

Reports in Germany last weekend had claimed that the Reds were set to lose out to Bayern Munich in the pursuit of the highly rated Germany international.

Brandt was said to be on the verge of agreeing a £25 million move to the Bundesliga champions, dashing Jurgen Klopp’s plans to sign the player.

But the 20-year-old’s father and agent Jurgen insists that the reports are inaccurate and insists that no decision has been made on his future.

“It is fake news that Julian has agreed terms with Bayern,” he told Kicker.

“Julian has never been in the situation where he had to – or wanted to – make a decision on his future.”

Brandt has recorded 17 goals and 20 assists since 2014/15 and will be available for €12 million next summer in the final 12 months of his current deal at the BayArena.
