Crystal Palace told to pay £30m for Mamadou Sakho

Liverpool have demanded £30 million to seal Mamadou Sakho’s summer exit.

Sakho is enjoying a career renaissance after securing a loan move to Crystal Palace, who are now considering a permanent move for the Reds defender.

But Anfield officials have set a hefty premium to part with the France international, who was banished from the first-team by Jurgen Klopp last July.

Sam Allardyce admitted that the Eagles would face a ‘big negotiation’ with Liverpool in order to secure Sakho’s services on a long-term deal.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Southampton and Napoli are also considering moves to sign the former Paris Saint-Germain captain at the end of this season.

Klopp’s decision to isolate Sakho from the fold at Anfield came after he was sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of America for repeatedly breaking rules.

In September the centre-back later launched an attack on Liverpool on social media, claiming that a ‘lie’ was behind his prolonged wilderness period.

He was later allowed to feature for the club’s under-23 side but Klopp remained insistent that Sakho’s hopes of a revived future were virtually nonexistent.
