Lovren urges Liverpool FC to sign Ivan Perisic

Dejan Lovren has backed Liverpool’s reported interest in Ivan Perisic.

Perisic previously worked with Jurgen Klopp during an unsuccessful spell at Borussia Dortmund but has since been tipped for a reunion at Anfield.

The versatile attacker is currently valued at £35 million by Inter Milan, who are bracing themselves for interest from several of Europe’s elite clubs this summer.

Chelsea and Manchester United are both said to be keen on Perisic, with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho travelling to Zagreb to watch him in action last week.

But Lovren believes that his fellow Croatia international would be a perfect addition to Liverpool’s squad.

“We players do not know anything about [transfers] until it happens. That’s always the case,” he told Sportske Novosti.

“But a player like Perisic moving to Liverpool would be great. He is a top-quality player.

“At Liverpool, all the players would welcome him with open arms.

“Obviously I do not know if [the rumour] is true. But what I can say is that he has exceptional football skills, knowledge and a higher than average quality.”
