Lucas Leiva has reportedly agreed to secure his Liverpool exit this summer.
The Brazilian midfielder is approaching a tenth year at Anfield but may not see the landmark anniversary as his first-team prospects continue to prove limited.
Jurgen Klopp deployed Lucas as a makeshift centre-back in place of either Joel Matip or Dejan Lovren due to the strong competition in his preferred position.
Georginio Wijnaldum, Emre Can and Jordan Henderson currently dominate the Reds’ midfield berth while Adam Lallana has also regularly settled into the role.
Liverpool were willing to allow Lucas leave the club in January amid interest from Inter Milan but the player chose to stay and fight for his place under Klopp.
However reports in Turkey claim that Galatasaray have struck a deal to secure the 30-year-old when the transfer window reopens at the end of this season.
According to Sabah, a £2.2 million fee is already agreed to see Lucas become a belated replacement for Felipe Melo, who joined Inter in summer 2015.
Since arriving from Gremio in 2007, Lucas has made over 300 appearances for Liverpool, some as acting captain, and netted seven times for the club.
