Everton FC scrapped move for Premier League goalkeeper

Everton scrapped a January bid for West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian as a result of Joel Robles impressive run of form.

The Blues could have been on the hunt for a goalkeeper this month after Maarten Stekelenburg’s inconsistent form in the first half of the campaign.

It appears that they had identified several targets, with the Daily Mirror reporting a three-man shortlist had been drawn up. Amongst those on that list was Hammers man Adrian.

However, a potential deal for the Spaniard scrapped as a result of the impressive form from Blues stopper Robles over the last month.

He came into the side following an injury to Stekelenburg during the Merseyside derby in December and since then he has managed to keep four clean sheets in his last six appearances.

Manager Ronald Koeman has seemingly been impressed and the Dutchman will now wait until the summer to find a new number one for his team.
