Everton FC shelve deadline day plans for Premier League target

Everton have put their potential swoop for Burnley defender Michael Keane on hold until the summer.

The Blues are thought to be keen on the central defender, with Ronald Koeman confirming on Monday he was among their potential targets for this transfer window.

A deadline day bid for his services was then mooted as Koeman looks to add to his captures of Morgan Schneiderlin and Ademola Lookman.

However, the Clarets are not keen to sell and managed Sean Dyche had warned the Toffees against making a move.

The Lancashire side are currently 13th in the table and would loathe losing their star defender as they look to maintain their Premier League status.

BBC Sport now reports that a deadline day move for Keane is unlikely and instead Everton are willing to renew their interest in the summer.
