Everton FC willing to sell striker in January window

Ronald Koeman has revealed that Everton are willing to offload Arouna Kone before the January transfer window ends.

Kone remains restricted to just six appearances for the Blues after failing to convince Roberto Martinez’s successor that he is worthy of a regular role.

The Ivory Coast striker endured an injury-hit career at Goodison Park and is currently set to be out of contract at the end of the current season.

But Koeman has refused to discount Kone leaving Everton before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline and admitted that there has been interest in the 33-year-old.

He said: “It is possible he will leave.

“I don’t know [if it will happen]. He is training and doing well but he likes to play.

“We have used other players than Arouna. I have had some offers for him.”
