Everton have reportedly trumped Barcelona to the signing of Caio Emerson.
The teenager has attracted interest from the current Spanish champions over the past 12 months with a series of impressive performances for Corinthians.
Manchester City and Chelsea were previously linked to the striker, 17, while the Blues’ local rivals Liverpool also retain an interest alongside Barcelona.
But Ronald Koeman is now set to snare his former club to Emerson’s capture with Everton reportedly winning the race for his signature.
According to the Daily Star, the Brazilian’s contract with Corinthians is set to expire this summer which will see him leave for as little as £250,000.
Koeman is currently looking eyeing cover for first-choice striker Romelu Lukaku and is thought to have identified APOEL front man Pieros Sotiriou.
