Everton FC deal for Ishak Belfodil in jeopardy

Ishak Belfodil’s proposed £10.5 million move to Everton is currently in jeopardy.

Standard Liege accepted a deal for the Algeria international last week but the Blues now threaten to be frustrated in their attempts to land the striker.

Belfodil was due to finalise the transfer at the club’s Finch Farm training ground last Friday but was delayed by the interference of unauthorised representatives.

Reports claim that the involvement of agent Christophe Henrotay has now threatened to derail the 25-year-old’s planned move to Goodison Park.

Henrotay is no stranger to Everton after brokering Romelu Lukaku’s club record £28 million switch from Chelsea before being replaced by Mino Raiola in 2015.

But according to the Daily Mail, his attempts to involve himself in Belfodil’s prospective deal is undoing negotiations between the club and the player’s agent.

Mohamed Al Faiech is said to have held talks held talks with Everton director of football Steve Walsh last week following Standard’s acceptance of their bid.

Everton could also now face fresh competition from an unnamed German club.
