Miguel Angel Ramirez claims that Liverpool are scuppering Las Palmas’ plans to land Jese Rodriguez.
The former Real Madrid striker is eyeing an exit from Paris Saint-Germain after spending barely six months with the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
Jese has made only nine appearances for the Parisian club and is expected to spark a transfer tussle when the transfer window reopens on January 1.
Las Palmas president Ramirez remains hopeful of sealing the 23-year-old’s return to his home town club but has slammed Liverpool among a host of clubs threatening to derail that plan.
“Jese Rodriguez is a great footballer. He wants to come to Las Palmas,” he told Las Provincia.
“But he is owned by PSG and earns a salary that is of his level and that is very high.
“Liverpool, Milan and Roma want Jese and are ready to pay what he earns.
“We cannot afford that salary.”
