Premier League striker targeted by Everton FC

Everton have made an enquiry to sign West Brom striker Saido Berahino.

The forward is out of contract at the end of this season after seeing numerous attempts to leave the Hawthorns thwarted by his club in previous years.

But the Blues are hoping to capitalise on Berahino’s expiring deal as Ronald Koeman looks to provide further fire power in the January transfer window.

They have contacted the Baggies in a bid to secure a deal with Tony Pulis’ side wary of losing the 23-year-old for a minimal development fee next summer.

Inter Milan, Roma and Nice are said to be monitoring Berahino’s situation with a cut-price compensation package of £300,000 expected at the end of June.

Stoke City, Newcastle and West Ham have also expressed an interest in the former England under-21 international, the Daily Mail have claimed.

Koeman is already planning to bolster his attacking options with a deal worth up to £11 million for Charlton prodigy Ademola Lookman currently in the works.

However the League One side are keen on retaining the 19-year-old on loan for the remainder of the current campaign, which has struck discord with Everton.
